EnA Cover Girls

Throughout the year, EnA will feature a “Cover Girl” in each of our catalogs. This woman is
an accomplished, driven, sophisticated and successful woman in the local community. She
is also as passionate about EnA Fine Jewelry as she is about her cause. At EnA, we believe
every woman is extraordinary. In the catalogs and on our blog, we will interview her and learn about the charitable organization that is near and dear to her heart and to which we will donate a portion of our proceeds.

We are so pleased to announce our partnership with Sweet Briar College for the month of December and to present our Cover Girls – 6 fabulous alumnae from the Philadelphia area.

We are having a great time working with the Women in Investing Network and our Cover Girl, Tracy Musser.  Since EnA Fine Jewelry and WIN are trying to meet our goal of raising $3,000 for Cradles to Crayons, we have decided to extend our Cover Girl campaign through August.  Please help us reach our goal by purchasing a piece of EnA Fine Jewelry.  10% of every sale goes directly to Cradles to Crayons, the designated charity of WIN for 2015.

WIN post

Cradles to Crayons is an essential organization that provides needy children in the greater Philadelphia region with clothes, shoes, books and school supplies.  Now is a great time to support this organization, especially for those children who cannot afford back to school supplies.  Please help us reach our goal!

Q&A with Tracy Musser

by enafinejewelry on July 1, 2015

Posted in: EnA Cover Girl

EnA is thrilled to present our July Cover Girl.  Read on about this smart, savvy and accomplished woman and why we will be donating 10% to Cradles to Crayons (her charity of choice) for the month of July.

Tracy L. Musser is Sr. Institutional Relationship Manager at Thompson, Siegel and Walmsley LLC as well as Co-founder and Co-President of WIN, Women in Investing Network of Philadelphia

What was the motivation for starting WIN?

With over 25 years of combined experience in the investment industry, the vision for WIN came from the desire of its co-founders, Tracy Musser, TS & W, and Sharon Hayman, Delaware Investments, to develop an organization focused on empowering women in investing throughout their careers.  Recognizing the importance of networking and building relationships within the investment industry, the co-founders focused on making these connections easier.  Tracy notes,” We established WIN to offer women from all constituencies in the investment business a means to discover the experts in our backyard.  The co-founders began creating a network designed to share business and career experience as we all worked to meet the common needs of our clients and colleagues.”

Today, WIN of Philadelphia is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for networking and professional development for women involved in investing, including plan sponsors, investment managers, consultants, accountants and attorneys.  WIN achieves this objective through a variety of activities, including live events, committee involvement, its website and regular communications.  Our mission is to:

– Promote professional networking and career development opportunities through effective programs, depth and breadth of membership, and extensive relationships in the investment community

– Foster personal development through opportunities in leadership, mentoring and education for women across varying investment professions and experience levels

– Provide high caliber education programs and access to pertinent resources to women in the investment industry

Please tell us about your charity and why it is important to you?

Over the years as WIN has grown up, we have increased our activities to include Community Outreach. This year’s selected organization is Cradles to Crayons.

Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. They supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need.

Cradles to Crayons collects new and nearly new children’s items through grassroots community drives and corporate donations. Donations are then processed and packaged by volunteers, and are distributed to disadvantaged children across the state through a collaborative network of social service agencies and school partners.

Their vision is that one day every child will have the essentials they need.

Why do you love EnA Fine Jewelry?

I love the geometry and flexibility of every piece. EnA represents fine jewelry pieces with a contemporary flare yet timeless and jewelry that can be worn with suits or casual wear.

What is your favorite EnA jewelry piece or collection?

I often wear the Champagne necklace.  It is unique in design and receives plenty of compliments.

EnA supports accomplished women through its Cover Girl campaign.  For the duration of a month, EnA Fine Jewelry donates a portion of the proceeds to the Cover Girl’s charity of choice.  This month, 10% of all sales will be donated to Cradles to Crayons. Please include “C2C’ in the “Special Instructions” box at checkout.

EnA is honored and proud to be partnering with smart, savvy and accomplished Tracy Musser for the month of July.  She serves as senior Institutional Relationship Manager for Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley LLC , a Richmond, Virginia investment manager firm and is the Co-founder and Co-President of WIN, Women in Investing Network of Philadelphia.

Please tell us about your organization and why it is so important to you?

[Dr. Siggers] The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology—the Penn Museum—is one of the real “treasures” of Philadelphia. A world renowned museum and research center, the Penn Museum was founded more than 125 years ago, before a single brick was laid, when archaeologists first went out to dig in the ancient Near East, at a site called Nippur in what is now southern Iraq. Those excavations, which continued for about 12 seasons, yielded thousands upon thousands of clay cuneiform tablets containing some of the earliest writing, and literature, in the world.

About 350 expeditions later, the Penn Museum continues to explore—through archaeological and ethnographic expeditions, as well as archival research, collections studies and scientific analysis. The collections have grown to nearly one million artifacts, from every inhabited continent and throughout the ages. Together, the collections and research provide our scholars, students and the public with exciting opportunities to explore and discover more about what it means to be human. The museum’s mission is to transform understanding of the human experience—and it happens in big ways and small, from gallery tours and talks that shed light on cultures through time, to the announcement of new discoveries, from a 6,500-year-old skeleton in museum storage, now with new identification information, to an ancient dynasty discovered during a dig in Abydos, Egypt.

Our all-volunteer Women’s Committee, knowing what treasures the Penn Museum contains, has created a wonderful “Treasures Sale and Show,” wcpennmuseum.com, featuring a wonderful range of jewelry and accessories by distinguished dealers and designers. EnA Fine Jewelry will be among the presenters! The sale and show, which benefits the Penn Museum, runs October 30 through November 2, with a host of special events people can sign up for now. Guests to the “Treasures Sale and Show” can explore the Penn Museum, and its treasures, too, when they come. Marianne and I are delighted and honored to be the honorary chairs of the event.

Why do you love EnA Fine Jewelry?

[Marianne] I love EnA jewelry because it is refined, sophisticated, and a little edgy.  The aesthetic is classic and contemporary at the same time.  I love the sculptural and architectural qualities of the designs.

What is your favorite jewelry piece or collection?

[Marianne] The CAPTIVITY Necklace is one I adore.  It is so versatile.  I can wear it with jeans or a black dress.  It makes a statement but in a subtle way.   The blackened sterling silver contrasts nicely with my hair color and complexion.

We are thrilled to present our latest partnership through our Cover Girl Campaign in support of educational programming through the efforts of the Women’s Committee at the Penn Museum.  This time, we are featuring a Cover Couple and not a Cover Girl.  Browse the catalog and learn why EnA has chosen to highlight Dr. Siggers and his wife, Marianne Lovink, an accomplished couple who have relocated to Philadelphia and are the honorary co-chairs of the Treasures Sale and Show organized by the Women’s Committee.  EnA will be participating in the event taking place at the Museum from October 30th through November 2nd, but until then, you can shop the catalog.

Treasures catalog COVER

You will learn about the amazing initiatives taking place at this Philadelphia treasure and why you should shop to support this cultural institution.  20% of the proceeds from sales in the catalog will go toward educational programming through the Women’s Committee including Unpacking the Past, an initiative that brings to life the study of ancient civilizations for 10,000 inner-city 7th graders annually.  Thank you for supporting the Penn Museum!

 SROCF Cover

Why support the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation?

The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation unites with our community to raise awareness about ovarian cancer, educate the general public and physicians about the disease, and raise funds to advance research towards a cure. I am an oncology nurse. Throughout my career, I have learned that ovarian cancer is a devastating disease that is difficult to diagnose and even more difficult to treat. I believe that together, we have the power to change this. Our mission is to fight for those who are fighting, speak for those who have fallen silent and provide for those who are working towards a cure.

Why do you love EnA Fine Jewelry?

I love EnA jewelry because of its versatility. It can be dressy or casual, worn to the office or out to dinner. The artistry is unique and beautiful.

What is your favorite EnA jewelry piece or collection?

The Lariat necklace is my favorite. It’s sophisticated yet can be worn dressy or casual.

Meet EnA Cover Girl, Amie Potsic, the Executive Director of the Main Line Art CenterWe invite you to flip through our beautiful new September 2013 Catalog to learn more about our accomplished EnA Cover Girl and the Main Line Art Center.  For easy check out, please visit our Square Marketplace page.

Meet Amie Potsic, the Executive Director of Main Line Art Center

Why should we support the Main Line Art Center?

Main Line Art Center is a welcoming, creative home where everyone is encouraged to create, experience, and discover the value of art. I am so proud to have joined such an inclusive organization that truly believes in the power of art to transform lives. We define art, artistic practice, and art education as lifetime opportunities for personal growth, enlightenment, joy, and development. Committed to making art accessible to everyone, we offer art programs for individuals of all ages and abilities, including a unique series of outreach programs, which serve as national models for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. We also present innovative, contemporary art exhibitions in our award-winning galleries and offer over $12,000 in need-based scholarships annually.

For over 75 years, the Art Center has supported the core values of respect for individual creativity, a belief that everyone has the ability to learn and appreciate art, and the notion that art is essential for balance, enrichment, and community. I feel fortunate to have joined the Art Center at such an exciting time of change and transformation. We are currently undergoing a large-scale expansion and renovation of our 100-year-old building, which will enhance the artistic experience of our entire community. When we reopen in November, our improved Art Center will host new jewelry, painting, and digital media studios, natural light in our ceramics department, a new front entrance to our art galleries, and numerous improvements throughout the building. In addition to the renovation, our capital campaign will increase our robust scholarship program and allow us to expand our outreach programs in honor of their 50th anniversary in 2014. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to improve our creative home for a new generation of artists and enthusiasts as a means of celebrating and strengthening the essential role of visual art in community life.

Why do you love EnA Fine Jewelry?

I love EnA jewelry because it is elegant, sophisticated, and understated. Each piece exhibits a beautiful architectural quality. Because of the clean lines, it can be dressy or casual and worn with just about anything.

What is your favorite EnA jewelry piece or collection?

The SPINE Pendant is definitely a favorite. But, it’s hard to choose!

Any other thoughts or information you would like to share?

I think it’s wonderful that EnA is giving back to the community by supporting non-profit organizations working for the greater good. I am honored to be an EnA Cover Girl and am so grateful to be able to support Main Line Art Center through this partnership. Thank you!

Red Paw Special Edition EnA Catalog 2013

Meet Jen Leary:

What is your profession?

I am the founder of RED PAW Emergency Relief Team.

Please tell us about your charity/organization and why it is so important to you?

Red Paw has been a work in progress for many years and is a direct result of my experiences on the fire ground with the Philadelphia Fire Department and the American Red Cross.  Time and time again, I saw pets left at a fire scene with no organization to provide emergency care after the disaster.

Two specific incidents sparked Red Paw’s birth. Six years ago, a two-alarm fire in Center City resulted in the death of two dogs and a cat because there was not a procedure in place to help them. Responding with the Red Cross, I was there and saw the owners carrying the dogs in their arms screaming for help, but no one was there to help them. I used my personal vehicle to rush them to Penn Veterinary Hospital (while the owners were giving the dogs oxygen with equipment borrowed from a medic unit) where they later died.

The second incident occurred in January 2011 during a three-alarm fire at an apartment complex in West Philly. Cats were being taken out of the building in laundry baskets and rushed to the shelter without crates or emergency vet care. Dozens of cats were trapped in the building for weeks afterwards.

Shortly after that fire, I brought my proposal for Red Paw to the American Red Cross — to work in conjunction with their responders when there are pets on scene. Eight months later, Red Paw was born. Humans have the fire department and the Red Cross to provide emergency assistance and now their pets have Red Paw!

Why do you love EnA Fine Jewelry?

It’s simple but eye catching. In my line of work, you can’t really wear a lot of jewelry. I never know when a call is coming in and if I’ll be climbing through a collapsed building or a fire dwelling trying to rescue someone’s pet. The last thing I need is a piece of jewelry that I have to worry about taking off  before I respond or that is too bulky and will get in the way. With EnA’s jewelry, it’s casual enough to keep on and go about my day at a meeting or on a disaster scene.

What is your favorite EnA jewelry piece or collection?

The CLASP Pendant on a red (of course), suede cord!

Any other thoughts or information you would like to share?

I am honored to be a part of EnA’s Cover Girl Campaign and proud to associate with a company that gives back to it’s community!
